This site was designed and programmed by Andrew Venell in spring 2016, and substantially refined in 2021.

This site and these works were created while living in San Francisco, on the stolen tribal lands of the Raymatush and Ohlone people; and in Chicago, on the stolen tribal lands of the Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), Peoria, Bodéwadmiké (Potawatomi), Myaamia and Očhéthi Šakówiŋ people.

These works were created while relying on technologies and infrastructure funded in part or in full by the U.S. Government, and therefore by the labor and ingenuity of U.S. tax payers for the benefit of us all; most notably my practice has relied upon the U.S. Postal Service, a vital public good enshrined in the U.S. Constitution which should remain free of all profit motive.

These works rely on the ideas, observations, productions and conversations of many others, some of whom shared or sparked ideas directly and some of whom I may be only dimly aware of.

The purpose of these acknowledgments is not to absolve myself of further responsibility but to begin the process of understanding and paying respect to the vast and interconnected web of humanity to which I belong and to whom this work owes debts. We are not atoms in blank space, careening toward our individual fates, but a mesh of inter-reliant, equally precious souls, in glorious debt to one another and the earth for every thing we make and take. I acknowledge soberly the network of unseen hands that hold me up even as they may push others down, and I further commit myself to using my hands to lift others.
