We are engaging in a week-​​long media diet. Or “media fast” is maybe more accurate. An information diet. It is exactly as hard as I imagined not to fill every dead minute with goalless web surfing.

Has Happened takes Total Information Awareness past its logical conclusion, imagining a world where Paul Virilio’s “time accident” has already occurred (/​is occurring): where past, present and future calamities merge into an ongoing crisis of history itself. News clips are continuously pulled from a database and layered, while the ticker assembles a continuous sentence out of selections from Virilio’s Unknown Quantity.
